Personal history are our stories that we accumulate over a lifetime. They are the events, experiences, successes, friendships, hard times and glorious times that make up our lives. So, are these stories personal or to be shared? I suppose there would be arguments both ways, depending of course on the life event, who is involved and the potential impact of sharing it. That is for each of us to decide. What I see as being so very important is the sharing of our personal histories to the extent that we support, enhance and provide context for our families that follow us. If it is true that none of us got to where we are (education, socio-economically, politically etc) on our own and that much of our current self is due to the past - surely we would want to know what that past is?
So, is personal history personal? I don't think so but sometimes it remains sadly, untold.
